Hi everyone ,
I’ts hard to believe that we are into September and after a number of weeks of many of us being absent from the club due to holidays and Grandparent duties in some cases, we will be back to being a large group of busy creatives.
The survey we carried out earlier in the year concluded that club members enjoyed having visiting artists but also liked to have time to work on their own projects and share ideas with other group members. We are looking to invite 6 artists this year but will of course be flexble if members want to have follow up workshops to explore something further.
Diary of Events:
Programme of Visiting Artists from September 2024.
Geoff Hewitt was our last guest Artist who led a workshop on Charcoal Portraits in the summer, which was very well received and he has agreed to run our first workshop this autumn.
The workshop will take place on the 27th September, which will be a series of exercises to support figure drawing and composition. Geoff will do a quick recap of how to observe and draw figures which will include a demonstration.
The session will include sketching volunteers , using a reference photo and further demos . Geoff has suggested a coffee break during the session. He will provide paper, charcoal and fixative but you can also sketch in your preferred medium e.g.graphite,pastel, biro …
