Hi everyone ,

The Exhibition is underway and after a busy day on Monday setting up it has been a great first day.

There has been enthusiasm and compliments for the entries and comments about the high standard of work displayed.

Some members have already popped in to see their work in situ and to have a closer look at other members work that they have seen being created but not always have had a chance to view as finished pieces. There have been some obligatory selfies taken by artists alongside their work and Linda and I have been on hand for those needing a photographer.

Some members have volunteered their help on particular days but please feel free to join us any time as the public like to chat to you about your work and art in general.

This lovely couple have treated themselves to two pieces of art, which are very different in style and medium but had caught their eye and so both had to go home with them.

Diary of  Events

The programme of Visiting Artists has been completed and a new programme will run from September.

Geoff Hewitt was our last guest Artist who led a workshop on Charcoal Portraits which was very well received .

He has agreed to run a further workshop in the autumn, which will be a series of exercises to support figure drawing and composition. I will keep you updated.

We are hoping to include some plein air painting over the summer but will keep the club open for those wishing to carry on with their own projects

The Diary of Events will be updated in the autumn any changes will be included as part of every post published.

Members who wish to attend the club but not participate in any of the workshops  will still be able to attend and a space will be provided for them to work on their own projects. Note that the workshops are open exclusively to our membership.

Details for each artist and any resources special instructions will be sent out before each event via email.

During July and August there will be plein air sessions organised for those wishing to participate.

The club will still be open for those who prefer to continue to work on their projects in the Rugby Club as usual.
