Monday was hectic as the Minster was busy with the aftermath of the auction that had been held there on the previous Saturday. Linda and I as the Events team at the club were helped by my husband and club member Penny, who once again roped in her husband Arthur to help. We couldn’t have managed it without them.
The Minster opens its doors to the general public every day and there were lots of interest in what we were doing and positive comments about the art, as we put together the display. We were also able to see all the interesting artefacts, which date back to the fourteenth century being sorted ready to be transported to their new homes from the auction.
Our opening on Tuesday was well attended and a few familiar faces from the club came along to view and offer some moral support. Bev joined us to help with managing the event and we are pleased to say that we had two sales and a number of returning visitors, who had been in the Minster when we were setting up.
We have had interest regarding club membership from people who were drawn to the range of media and different approaches of the artists exhibiting.
Here are a few photos of the day.
