O n our return after the Christmas Break we welcomed seven new members to the club! This has made a great start to the year. Luckily we have already made some changes in how we work as a committee as Rebecca now has the role as Membership Secretary freeing up Pat our Secretary to take on the task of  booking Visiting Artists .

A number of our new members are  at the beginning of their art journey and some are returning to art after a long break due to work commitments, which is something many of us experience who have wanted to create and haven’t had the time to devote to it. Then there are decisions on what to start with first.

We have been lucky to meet Joan Hudson who is an Artist and tutor with a wealth of experience who has agreed to support our members on a regular basis as a mentor. She  joined us for two sessions this month and those who wished to chat with her and discuss their  work were able to have some 1:1 time with her. This is something that we will be offering every other month as the feedback was positive from  members who participated in the initial sessions.
