Beverley Open Studios Trail
Exciting news and a first for our Art Club! We are going to be one of the venues on the Beverley Open Studios Trail which will take place over two weekends in October .
The Artist who is participating in this event is Linda Saxby. She is retired but is a member of the committee responsible for organising events including exhibititions and has been active in all aspects of our club activities for several years. We are delighted that her work is featured on the front of the map.
She enjoys using lots of different media and likes to experiment with different styles from abstract to realism.It could be a bird in colored pencils or an abstract created in watercolour and collage.Check out her page to see more of her work.
This event is an annual treat for those wishing to explore art and creativity in our local area.
For those of you reading this who aren’t aware of where are club is situated we are resident artists in Oldroyd’s Corner , ‘a place created for everyone to enjoy, meet ,teach and connect ‘and will be number 22 on the Open Studio’s map.
The Community Garden provides a natural ‘trail’ where you will find Linda exhibiting her work .
She has been busy gathering and preparing pieces and is looking forward to meeting those who wish to come along to our venue.
The club will be supporting Linda by opening up our Art Room and Exhibition space ,which is usually open during club sessions to anyone visiting the Centre.
We also showcase our work outside of the Art Room in the Community Garden. It is under glass and so we are always able to set up our easels in the garden to paint and draw.
For the duration of the Open Studios some members will join Linda and you’ll be able to have a chat with them about their work in progress as well as view their finished pieces. We welcome new members and if you are feeling inspired by what you have seen throughout the trail there’s no time like the present to start your own art journey.
