Peter will be visiting the club at 1 o’clock on Friday the 17th June to give the members a workshop on seascapes. As Peter has told us:-

I am a self taught artist with the exception of a GCE ‘O’ level in art from the last century. My interest in seascapes comes from twenty years spent sailing the oceans as a Radio Officer in the Merchant Navy. My job was to keep a listening watch so I could look out of the window and study waves at the same time!

I have painted many ships on the ocean in my time but they never sold well until I decided to leave out the ships and just paint the sea. There is no doubt many people are fascinated watching the waves crash onshore and I hope my tips on painting the ocean will enhance your enjoyment of painting for pleasure.

Here are a few more of my recent endeavours.
